With the rapidly changing retail landscape there are more and more demands for more information about products and options to purchase. It has become critical for retailers to have a Fulfillment Strategy: Delivering as promised to the customer.
Fulfillment for vendors means that Shipment Notices must confirm delivery to the home. This link enables the merchant to get paid rapidly by credit card. Additionally the shipment notice contains the tracer number and delivery date from the parcel carrier.
Ship-to-store, mark for a named customer also means adding the name to the Shipment Notice, Bill of Lading, and Shipping Label (GS1-128).
This information is incremental and requires some programming and user training. Because DCS works only for you, we will tell you must be done and what can be avoided.
What does this mean for you? If you improve faster, will you achieve as small competitive advantage with the merchant? Contact your DCS EDI specialist to discuss how we can help you ensure that your existing EDI system is ready to handle the changing retail environment.
